NOTES: 
Disk was starting some mould sporing, particularly on the head 1 (reverse) side. Attempt made to read disk as-is using retries=1

Majority of sectors recovered successfully. A run of the head cleaning disk before retrying, resulted in successful recovery on pass 2.

Disk drive heads thoroughly cleaned again (3x 'gw clean' cycles with a isopropyl alcohol-soaked cleaning disk)

100% media recovery.

Disk returned to original sleeve for archiving.

SoftKlone's Mirror II is a vintage MS-DOS telecommunications software application. 
Released in the mid-to-late 1980s, it was designed as a powerful, cost-effective clone of the dominant Crosstalk XVI software.

It allowed early IBM PC-compatible computers to connect to remote systems, bulletin board systems (BBS), and mainframes via modems and serial ports.

It was heavily favored because it retained backward compatibility with Crosstalk but offered better features like background mode, mouse support, and more file-transfer protocols (like XMODEM and YMODEM).

The software made history in a landmark 1987 intellectual property case (Digital Communications Associates, Inc. v. Softklone Distributing Corp.). It set a precedent for software "look and feel" by proving that while the software's screen display could be copyrighted, the commands behind the interface were fair game for competitors to clone.
