TRUE ACCESS TO ALL THAT SOFTWARE
With the software library reaching over 800 disks and rising
steadily the task of deciding which particular program will suit
your needs has become to say the least formidable. To solve the
problem we will be providing an interactive data base to members.
Your going to love COMPU-FIND.
COMPU-FIND has been written by Brian Williams who runs the
Northern branch of COMPUINK. The programme is entirely menu
driven and very FFFFFFAAAAAASSSSSSTTTTTT.
The data will be arranged into chapters (each data disk being a
chapter) and each chapter will contain 1 or more categories so
searching for that special Dos Utility will be that much
quicker.
Each programme will have a page in a chapter. Data on each page
will include Filename, Date of Creation, Size of File, Category
(i.e. COMMUNICATIONS, FILE UTILITY etc.) the Fido File Area where
the programme can be downloaded from and a full description of
the programme and its functions.
A fully comprehensive search facility exists within the
programme. Programmes can be located by File Name, File
Extension, Category and 3 Description variables can be used to
interrogate the programme description. Results can be displayed
on screen or printer.
Once you have found the programme you are looking for you will be
able to place it in an order file and then print your disk order
form from within the program. In addition there will be 2 forms
of disk catalogue available at the print menu, one displaying all
the information about the the contents of a disk and one with
brief descriptions.
The programme will come complete with a bound manual and
extensive onscreen help is available. A telephone support line
will also be provided.
The programme is due for release in the first week in May 1986
and the first chapter will accompany the programme.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST
You would expect to pay any where from 200-500 pounds for
programme of this calibre but we will be making the programme
available to members for only 25 pounds sterling and this
includes chapter 1. Additional chapters will cost 3 pounds
sterling.
Prior to release you will receive an order form for COMPU-FIND,
be sure to mail it in promptly, judging by the response of those
who attended COMPULINKS first meeting in April, demand will be
heavy.
We will welcome legitimate criticisms and good ideas for future
enhancements. After all COMPULINK is your user group and the more
participation we get from members the greater its success.
COMPU-FIND will place COMPULINK firmly at the fore front of user
groups in the U.K if not the world.
Your going to love COMPU-FIND.
