TIMEX
v 1.0
by David Jones
This is a short but versatile program that replaces some of the functions
of the system command TIME and adds quite a few more.
The standard time output is converted to AM/PM and dumps the seconds.
The time or date can be written to the screen, printer or a file.
There is no requirement to enter a new time whenever TimeX is called.
TimeX can set a time marker and then calculate the time elapsed later on.
The time marker and elapsed time feature was my main requirement for this
utility since I have a lot of batch files that take a long time to execute
but unless I sit and wait for them to end I don't really know how long they
take. To overcome this add the line TIMEX M to the top of a batch file to
set a time marker and TIMEX S,E at the end to display the elapsed time.
The program is set up to give a full list of input requirements whenever
a command tail is entered that it does not understand.
I have tested this program and I use it regularly but I claim the usual
disclaimers regarding use at your own risk etc,.
Feel free to distribute the program in its original state or write to me
for source code or with suggestions for version 2.
Type 'TIMEX A' for my address.
