│ ODYSSEY │
│ ─────── │
│ │
│ This disk contains a time limited demo version of Odyssey. The demo │
│ will allow you to explore Odyssey features and decide whether the full │
│ package will suit your needs. │
│ │
│ The limitations placed on the demo version are:- │
│ │
│ o Connect time is limited to 5 minutes. After that time the │
│ program will automatically hang up the line and drop out to DOS. │
│ │
│ o File Downloads are not stored. NOTE: You may still test file │
│ downloads, but the created files will be zero bytes long as │
│ the data downloaded is not saved. │
│ │
│ o The Editor configuration tool and external script compiler are │
│ not supplied. │
│ │
│ o No manual. │
│ │
│ Everything else works, including MNP5. │
│ │
│ Since no manual is supplied, some basic information on how to use the │
│ package may be useful to you. To start Odyssey, simply type "ody" at │
│ the DOS prompt. Or if you are decompacting it using the PC cover disc │
│ menu it will automatically run. │
│ │
│ Odyssey will display a logo when it starts up, so just press a key to │
│ get past this point. │
│ │
│ It then displays a main menu along the top line of the display with │
│ various headings such as "File" "Setup" etc. These are associated with │
│ pulldown menus which appear when you type ALT-<x> where <x> is the │
│ first letter of the heading for the menu you want. │
│ │
│ For example to make the File menu appear simply type ALT-F. Once you │
│ know how to do this most of the rest of the package should be largely │
│ self explanetory, however if you get into trouble you can always type │
│ F1 for extra help. Keep your eye on the bottom line of the display │
│ too, as Odyssey often displays single line help messages there to jog │
│ your memory. │
