P StupenDOS - Shareware from Douglas Hay / Eclipse Technologies
P
P With StupenDOS you have control over all the files and directories on your
P discs. You can see with ease which files are in which directory and then
P make use of the multitude of options within StupenDOS to work with them.
P Because StupenDOS is so powerful we suggest you read the manual in full
P before using it. You'll find all of the dozens of options available to you
P described.
P
P As well as all the obvious functions you will see as soon as you run StupenDOS
P it can also manage other software such as Zip and List. These programs were on
P the July '90 PC Today cover disc and enable you to archive and read files.
P
P Key 1 for a brief list of StupenDOS functions
P Key 2 to unpack the SD Manual to your Current Directory on drive B:
P Key 3 to unpack the SD Manual to your Current Directory on drive C:
P Key 4 to RUN SD - READ NOTES FIRST
P NOTES: When running SD you will be asked to hit F1 to save monitor
P configuration info - do not attempt to do so when running SD
P from this disc. Choose Escape instead.
P Hitting ESCape twice will bring you out of SD and back here.
P (Those with a single drive should use option 2 to unpack the manual)

P CHECKING THE FILES ON THIS DISC
P
P All files on this disc will be verified using a CRC (cyclic redundancy check)
P to make sure that they are as they left us and haven't been corrupted in any
P way. This check will take a short while, depending on the speed of your PC.
P
P Each file will be listed and the comment "passed" added if everything is
P correct. If a file has been altered in any way the comment "failed" will be
P added. If any extra files have been added to the disc, the file will be
P listed with a "not expected" comment. If any errors are detected they will
P be reported again with an "Error(s) detected - continue (Y/N) ?" message.
P If this happens you would normally key N.
P
P The first time you run this disc, after adding a write protect tab, use
P this option to ensure the files are perfect. If you get a CRC failure as
P detailed above, please return the disc to the duplicators. Their address
P is shown on the back of the disc page in the magazine.
P
P Remember that on subsequent checks you will get CRC failures if you alter
P the disc in any way. Keeping a write protect tab on the disc at all times
P is the best way to ensure you don't alter it.
P
P ... Press Q to Quit ... C to CHECK CRCs ...
