│ CLOCKWORK MUSICAL EDITOR - Clockwork Software │
│ ───────────────────────────────────────────── │
│ │
│ Many of you will recollect the amazing Clockwork Pianola which plays 4-voice │
│ harmony on any PC, while simultaneously showing a Pianolla roll and a piano │
│ keyboard. If you wondered how Pianola's music roll files were written, here │
│ is the answer. An editor which accepts music in an easily readable text │
│ form, which checks, edits, demonstrates on its keyboard, plays and debugs │
│ the score. When finished, the editor compiles the tune into the much more │
│ compact Pianola roll format. │
│ │
│ Here is the editor, with more than 20 pages of help (which you can call up │
│ by pressing f1), a demonstration/tutorial file and several example score │
│ files for you to examine and adapt. To load in and play a new tune press f3 │
│ followed by return twice. Then select the tune you require with the cursor │
│ keys and press Return. When it has loaded just press f10 to hear it play. │
│ │
│ Whether or not you wish to use the editor for creating music, it is also a │
│ fast and powerful program for creating text files. │
