     This program has been  designed  to  provide  a  method of editing and
     viewing the  contents  of  your  discs.  Functions  that  this program
     includes  removing  or   changing   files/directories  attribute  byte
     (hidden, system, read  only).  It  also  includes  a  method  of fully
     listing files and directories and displaying their attribute byte. The
     programs can also  be  used  for  recovering  deleted  files, changing
     messages, removing all trace of data ever existing, and so on.

     Points to remember:

        This program only works with a colour monitor, not mono. Owners
        of mono machines may have some luck with the SIMCGA-type programs
        published on earlier discs.

        All numbers are displayed in hexadecimal.

        When typing a number, make sure that CAPS LOCK is ON.

        When you intend to change information  on  the disc always remove any
        write-protection.

        When the save flag in the lower right hand corner appears the program
        will save any changes that you  have  made  when you leave the current
        sector.

        The save flag can be cleared by pressing CTRL S.

        The programs will not work on  a  local  area network unless you have
        sufficient access.


     Functions  ( F1 ):

     Finding a string:

     In this function  the  program  automatically  assumes  that  you have
     already searched the current sector for  the  string. In the case that
     the string is not found or you  cancel  the function by pressing a key
     it will return you to the sector that you was previously editing. Once
     this function has been selected  any  unsaved  changes to the disc are
     lost.

     Load sector:

     This is a method of jumping to a  sector just by typing the number. If
     you want to jump to the twelfth sector you will need to type 000C .

     Changing a file/directory attribute byte:

     Just select the attribute that you  would  like to change existing one
     to and type  the  full  path  when  prompted.  There  aren't any error
     messages.

     PATHNAME   Drive:R\DirectoryR\filename.extension
      or        Drive:R\Directory

     A hidden program will not be able  to  be loaded unless it is involved
     in the booting process  these  programs are MSDOS.SYS/IBM.SYS, IO.SYS,
     COMMND.COM, CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT and  any  other programs that are
     included in the config.sys file.

     Listing a full directory. ( CTRL D ):

     This function gives you a method  of  working  your way through a disc
     choosing your own path. The display also shows the files attribute ( R
     = Read only  H =  Hidden   S  =  System).  For  a  summary of the keys
     functions press F2.

     Editing in ASCII:

     To select to edit in ASCII press CTRL and the right cursor key.


     Editing in HEX:

     To select to edit in HEX press CTRL and the left cursor key.


     Active cursors:

     There are two cursors displayed on  the  screen one which stays in the
     hex part and the  other  which  stays  in  the  ASCII part. The active
     cursor is the ligher coloured cursor.


     Exiting:

     Press ESCAPE.
