This is a special version of MultiWriter used for demonstrationì
purposes only.
All the main features of MultiWriter are available for you toì
try out for yourself except -
* This version will not PRINT.
* This version will not SAVE text to disk.
* The dictionary used by the SPELL CHECKER is muchì
reduced from the full production version.
* The NETWORK FILE LOCKING is not implemented.ì

If your computer screen flickers or has "SNOW" then you can PgDnì
prevent this by turning ON the snow control on the TEXT menu. You for moreì
can do this with the following key sequence-
[F2] [T] [N] [S] [Esc] [Esc]
Don't type the [ ] characters - these are there to distinguishì
the individual key strokes you should use.
When you use the MENU system full context sensitive help isì
available by moving the highlight bar to the subject on which youì
want help then pressing the [F1] key.
The special print effects Boldface and Underlined are highlightedì
on the screen. These are activated by pressing the [Ctrl] [P]ì
keys both at the same time followed by a single letter whichì
determines which function you are turning ON or OFF. A full listì
of the special features which can be supported ( depending onì
which printer you have ) may be seen by pressing the [F4] key. Press

The character codes which affect the special features can be for moreì
hidden / revealed by pressing [Ctrl] [O] [D].
You can get a disk directory at any time by pressing [F3].
You can look up characters on the built in ASCII table byì
pressing the [F5] key.
The function keys and special keys work as follows -

[F6] Undo last line/block delete

The line above illustrates the use of embedded rulerì
lines. These are saved with the document and give youì
total control over how tab and margin settings are used.
Tab settings are marked by the ! character in theì
ruler line and decimal tabs by the # character.
The rule with all such Dot Commands is the full stopì
must be in column 1 of the line or the command won'tì
work.
Notice how the ruler line changes as you move the cursorì
up and down past the .RR command so that the tab andì
margin settings are always set exactly as you want themì
for each part of your document.

Press
Page breaks are indicated on the right of the screen by a solid PgDnì
left arrow symbol. Page lengths are affected by the settings on for moreì
the PRINT menu. Hard carriage returns are shown by the « symbol.

The Spell Corrector is supplied with the short RAM basedì
dictionary and the USER dictionary but without the large mainì
dictionary. The spell chekker will even unscramble doubleì
transpositions in words and know that when you typed fialry youì
probublie meant fairly. Move the cursor to the top of theì
document then press [Ctrl] [Q] [L] to try it out.
